Officers from the Shelton Police Department arrested Kelly Savage, of Southington, following a complaint that was levied last month by one of her patient’s children.

According to police, Savage’s victim was being assisted daily by home health care workers. While those workers were in her service, family members noticed that several pieces of “significant” jewelry were missing from their mother’s room.

Police in Shelton launched an investigation, which led them to Savage and the missing jewelry. Savage was stopped by police in Groton on Wednesday, Dec. 5, and turned over to investigators in Shelton on the outstanding warrant. Further investigation found that Savage also had two outstanding arrest warrants for failing to appear in court.

Savage, 39, was taken into police custody and charged with second-degree larceny. She is currently being held in lieu of a total of $87,000 bond and is due to be transported to Derby Superior Court on Thursday, Dec. 6 for her arraignment.
